John Bucheleres has been consistently recognized as one of Chicago’s top commercial real estate professionals for nearly 30 years. In 1998 he founded Triton Capital LLC. The private-equity firm has invested in $80 million worth of commercial real estate assets, including office and industrial buildings, multifamily properties and land for development.
Before launching Triton, Bucheleres was a principal of JSQ Commercial LLC and JSQ Advisors LLC, overseeing asset management, property management and leasing for the fund’s assets. In all, JSQ raised equity exceeding $26.5 million and purchased more than $60 million of commercial real estate. Additionally, Bucheleres has worked with leading real estate developers, owners and brokerage firms, including Brookfield Asset Management, The John Buck Company, The Fifield Companies, Prime Group Realty Trust, The Beitler Companies and CBRE.
As a broker, Bucheleres has led marketing and leasing for some of Chicago’s highest-profile office buildings. During his career, he has represented owners of Class A properties in 7 million square feet of leases valued at more than $2.4 billion. He has held senior leasing positions at leading Chicago real estate firms and worked for top institutional owners such as Prudential Real Estate Investors, Aetna Life Insurance Company, Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association, New York Life Company and Nippon Life Insurance Company.
His numerous awards include the Chicago Sun-Times 1998 Office Property Broker of the Year. He was a finalist for Crain’s Chicago Business 2002 Office Property Broker of the Year and NAIOP’s 2005 Award for Excellence for Office Transaction of the Year. Currently, he is president of the board of directors for the Chicago Chapter of The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, which raises funds to advance spinal cord injury research. Under his leadership, the organization has raised more than $1.5 million during the past 16 years.
John is married and lives in Hinsdale, Illinois, with his wife and four children. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, platform tennis, skiing and international travel.
